100% of the fee for Neil's performances are donated to The Harvard Stem Cell Institute to put an end to Muscular Dystrophy. Read about these performances in Harvard's 2009 Newsletter.
Following a performance, a sticker of "Cookie, The Mouse Research Doctor" is placed on Neil's guitar case in honor of those enjoying that particular show. It is Neil's intention to very soon be carrying an all-white case around, and to be working from an office at Indiana University Southeast with walls covered with Cookies as well.
Our whiskered friend was created by graphic designer, Allison Brewer, and his name comes from the letters I.A.C.U.C. which stand for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Researchers refer to this committee as “Eye-ah-cook” and Kate Chen, The Associate Director of Gifts and Grants, suggested the very fitting name, Cookie.
Together with tens of thousands of students, educators and others who enjoy performances of The 8 O'Clock Bell, Dr. I. A. "Cookie" Cook stands ready to dedicate the lives of as many rodential-types of the world as it takes to stop Muscular Dystrophy and its many associated afflictions.
